I think 247 is gonna have to tweak their class rating system now that we are in the era of no signing limits and nonstop transfers. They currently weight the highest-rated recruits in a class more heavily than lower-rated recruits, but the overall size of the class still plays a pretty big role. There is now a lot more variability in class size than there used to be.

In my opinion, the top end of a class should be weighed even more heavily than before. I would think that the top ~1/3 of the class matters more today since the portal makes it harder to develop guys who don’t see the field immediately.

Not that it really matters in February.
