I mean, in hindsight, who should the Pels have asked for from LA instead of BI? Certainly not Kuzma, right?

The sad thing is Kuzma and BI are a lot closer than BI and what we thought BI was going to be.

I think pretty highly of BI. The Pelicans just think much much higher of him.

The Lakers trade was the right deal considering the other rumored options on the table. The problem is with all of the injuries, this version of the Pels has wasted 4 years figuring out BI and Zion aren't a good fit. Had they been able to figure that out earlier then maybe you trade BI earlier.

It's just like with Lonzo, the problem wasn't that Griff didn't negotiate with Chicago hard enough, it's that he didn't trade Lonzo earlier at a time when he would have had more leverage and options.
