The metro council ordinance refers to the TAF project to exceed $300 million. This wouldn't be a coat of paint and at that price, I highly doubt it is a renovation.

IIRC, U of Alabama is spending about $185 million for their new arena on an empty piece of land on campus. I know construction costs have increased in the past 2 years, but $300 million will probably result in some nice new diggs.
