The outcome of the agenda item may not make all LSU fans happy.

Honestly if we get an entirely new arena out of it or a significantly reworked PMAC...I'll be happy.

I don't want a warmed over River Center arena or a PMAC with some fresh paint. We need nicer digs and I think the fans can support it - either on campus or downtown.

The metro council ordinance refers to the TAF project to exceed $300 million. This wouldn't be a coat of paint and at that price, I highly doubt it is a renovation.

They aren't suggesting LSU renovate the River Center to use as LSU's home arena in the future. Rather, they are saying an aspect of the pitch to raise the funds for a new LSU arena would be that it would serve as the primary arena in EBR for concerts and other such things. Thus, they want assurances the River Center would not compete for those events. I'm assuming LSU would be looking for some tax money to help fund the building of a new arena and they have to show it would have benefit to the city/parish beyond just LSU sports.

I think others, myself included, just assumed that if LSU were to build a new arena at the current site of the PMAC they would need a temporary place to play while it is getting built. However, it seems more likely LSU will look to build an arena somewhere else on campus.
