A mixed use hotel/entertainment district connecting both Tiger Stadium and the new arena along Nicholson could be awesome if done correctly
I’d be all for that. It would potentially allow for LSU to profit off of teams coming in town to play for non football games.

They will likely frick it up as usual.
This is the problem. No AD has ever looked at the future and viability of facilities. They’ve only been able to focus on what’s right in front of them. I remember when FKA scrapped the stand alone nutrition center on site of old Box because he thought donations needed to go elsewhere and that the state wouldn’t fund it.

I don't think the finances even work without something like this. In this day and age, you cant fund a new arena and have it sit empty 8 months a year. You need the concert, convention, and hotel revenue to make it work.
I think they should do something similar beyond left field in Alex Box as well. A mixed use Condo/Hotel similar to Starkville would be awesome. Walk-ons (or someone similar) would write a blank check to be a ground level tenant at that location. Hell tie the whole thing together with the new North Stadium Drive development, and with a constant string of events from September thru May, it would not only pay for itself but be a cash cow for generations.
