Just now getting to begin to review the comments from the full YT video. It's definitely a rare occurrence, so the speculation is thick from all sides. There's a LOT to unpack, and the relative infrequency of witnessing this doesn't help matters.
One comment that I've noticed is that someone says that the white horse (called "grey" in England - no one knows why) is not supposed to be present when the king is not in London.
Something I'm hoping to get to the bottom of is why the guidon would be cased while they were in the 3 man formation, even if the description of the "long/short guard" is accurate.

It's also of note that the gent who filmed the entire video runs a Blues and Royals King's Guard fan site, and he's totally at a loss as to the significance of this particular ride, yesterday.
Apples and oranges to be sure, but if I'm livestreaming the events on any given Saturday in Athens, GA and I hear the Chapel bell ring, or I hear the trumpet solo come from Sanford Stadium, etc. I'm instantly going to know what's going on, and can explain what those particular things represent. Dude's got nothing, and the color (flag) being shrouded as it would during inclement weather even when the day in London is beautiful is the most significant part of this, IMO.

We may not know what it all means today, but there's something attached to this. Especially when no one has seen this formation run before. There are no more self-indulgent frauds than those folks who love huffing the farts of the British royal family.
