I got fired on a Sunday. Insubordination. All via phone calls and email.

That was different. Wasn’t good, wasn’t bad.

Last 2 guys that got fired at my place had meetings with all the bosses due to their incidents, were not informed they were fired at the meetings, and were called and fired over the phone 15 minutes later on their way home

Monday all day. It’s the worst day of the week anyway and at least I can hit the ground running after the news.

Friday is just cruel. Who wants to think about getting canned all weekend long?

Would YOU like to get a heads up by a coworker that “knew” it was coming, or would you prefer to get blindsided?

You threw him under the bus to protect yourself, didn’t you? Then you have the nerve to come in here just a giggling and bragging that the hardworking man is getting fired instead of you.

All about protecting the company campus and avoiding an incident. Have a meeting and calm em down and reassure them, then as soon as they leave deactivate their gate code and once you've finished booting them entirely off your system, call and fire. Besides a physical incident, it is definitely true that a disgruntled employee could royally frick everything up pretty quickly and easily through the company server software, even remotely. So I get it. But it's still pretty shitty.

I had a buddy go through a tough time in life. He was going through a divorce, drinking too much and just not in a good place. Started showing up late and having issues at work.

The execs decided to fire him and waited in the lobby with his stuff packed up and he was an hour late that day too
