Put on your blinker. It should be a habit. You shouldn't even have to think about it.

Rules? I’m laughing. It’s every man/woman for themselves out there these days.

frick getting rear ended by some a-hole glancing at their phone behind me.
And frick you.
I can get behind all of this, and can think of several specific places where I do this all the time.
One is the post office in Prairieville on Airline Hwy. The turn-in is just past the red light at Post Office Road. I almost feel like it would be UNsafe not to hit the shoulder there before turning into the post office.

I do that and this will really piss you off, in the country I go to the left (head on) lane when making a left hand turn when people are coming from behind.
Same. It's very courteous, safe, and helps prevents accidents. When anyone does it in front of me, I feel like giving them a lil' distant fist bump.

You never know when someone has an emergency or in a rush.
Quit worrying g about these types of things and grow a pair.
Your likely the punk or Karen tbaf blows their horn every chance you can or purposely blocks the lane when someone is riding the shoulder.
How bad would you feel if you helped sooone die in their car due to blocking the shoulder and could t make it to the hospital!
Mind your own business creep!

people turning right who swing into the left lane
Hell even better are the people who swing right to make the left turn across an intersection. Like, is your particular Suburban not capable of making a 120 degree left turn?

Why? You aren't saving the person behind you any real time and are increasing the risk of an accident.
Just turn like normal
Around here it's an old custom on FM roads, so I do it to be courteous when it can be done. Heck, on FM roads, if turning Left we'll move over to the oncoming lane when it's clear so we don't jam people up in the right lane. Nobody thinks twice and everyone gets a steering wheel wave.

This is such a weird thing to be triggered by.

When a driver gets out of the road before slowing down to <15mph for a turn, I like it. And if they’re on the right shoulder and not blind, there’s no risk.

I often find myself in evening traffic on Airline Hwy trying to turn right onto Highland road. TONS of people jump into the gas station right turn lane and then continue through the shoulder illegally into the right turn lane for Highland as shown below in red.
If you are one of those people, just know that I am the one in green obeying the rules of the road. But I am watching you in my rear view mirror every day and one of these days I am going to be merging into the turn lane just as you are. And I am going to jerk my vehicle over hard enough to put your arse in the ditch. And then your insurance will pay for my damaged vehicle.
You people need to learn a fricking lesson the hard way. Tired of people thinking their time is more important than others.

Actually had a guy rage on me this morning because he didn't use his blinker. Both sitting at the light for a few minutes and both needed to make a left turn onto a major highway. My blinker was on, his was not. Lights turn green, I assumed he was going straight so I crept through the intersection waiting for him to go through. He reacted late, then got pissed because he couldn't cross my face, since I didn't immediately cross his, and had to drive up and wait for me to clear.

I appreciate the attempt at courtesy, but I never actually pass those people until after they turn. I don’t trust them. There are far too many drivers who make a right turn as if they’re pulling a 20 ft. trailer and swing out into the lane to their left that they’re trying to open to allow you to pass.

That's not actual courtesy. Courtesy is a polite action on behalf of someone else.
Attempting to not be in someone's way is definitively courteous.

You don't know me, you don't know what I consider polite.
I don't need to poll you before doing something self-evidently polite. If you get pissy at someone attempting to not get in your way...

I missed the part where one has to be friends with another in order to be courteous to them.
You sound like someone who looks for reasons to be angry at others.

It totally fricks things up if the person behind you wants to make that same turn, and has to wait for you.

This pisses me off so much . Everyone tries to be too nice OR some idiot just goes when it’s not his turn.
