Wokeism collided with reality.
Dumping standardized test score requirements helped lower the number of applications made to each Ivy school.
The statistics for exclusive schools are based on the number of applications, the number of acceptances, and the number of enrolled based off those acceptances.
Going with the “holistic” approach meant that test scores would not help, so a lot of people likely didn’t bother applying there if they weren’t going to get in unless they were a minority set aside.

More kids applied BECAUSE of this. Yale received their second highest number of applicants in their history. The problem was that you didn’t get accepted if your name is Braxton with no SAT, regardless of your GPA and other stats.
Schools that went SAT optional all saw a surge applications. Hopefully this starts a trend and other schools reinstate standards to stop every fricking person applying to schools they have no business applying to.
I can’t wait to see the graduation stats for the 2025-2028 classes at the top 20 schools. I would wager a lot of these top schools see their graduation rates drop DRAMATICALLY.
