"Offensive" has lost all meaning, much like racist has.

That shite was real, people need to see it. It's a reminder that we can't do that again. What's the saying about history? Yeah, that one.

The reason this is being done is because of Black History Month and the perception by some who think it should mean constantly reminding everyone of slavery and Jim Crow.

Perhaps if people weren't so determined to keep picking at old wounds they would eventually heal over.

I like how we are pretending that white isn't a color, and that "white people" are actually white and don't
Have a range of hues.

My child’s school for black history is asking kids to dress up as favorite African American person.

What could go wrong with asking white kids to dress up as black people?

You should see how many people in the poli board said they would not vote for Obama because he was black.

How many people called out VP a ho

And you say we’re picking old wounds lol

This past weekend we saw "To Kill a Mockingbird" at the Broadway Theater League. The crowd was diverse, and they got to see a pretty cut and dry portrayal of the book. It was a great show that retained all the uncomfortable bits.

John Boy from the Waltons, Richard Thomas, played Atticus, and the lady who played the role of Scout in the original movie had a small role.

You can’t discuss black history (in the US) without looking at slavery and Jim Crow. Would be like discussing American History and skipping the Civil War.

Is that any different from people voting for him just because he was black?

I may not agree with your hatred of black people but I do accept you have the right to hate them. Hopefully you can learn from your ignorance

I was told by a white female LSU law student that black people cannot be racist

true story

A white leftist would say that and are ideologically addled enough to believe it.

Blacks haven't been uncomfortable with segregation in probably a decade. Go look at who is separating people by race these days.

I'm not saying it shouldn't be discussed, but it's time to move away from it being the core identity of Black History month. More focus should be on the positivity of blacks who have meaningfully contributed to society like Thomas Sowell, Clarence Thomas, etc. rather than continually focusing on the negative (which ends up fueling the perpetual victim mentality just like DEI does).

It’s most likely you actually descended from slave owners and traders.

Willing to bet, if offered, a large portion of both races would now prefer separate but equal if given the opportunity

I will never forget Maurice Staley telling us he smoked two blunts before our game against WC.

Then he single-handedly crushed us and I think his feet were 5 feet off the ground when he jumped for passes. His quarterback was okay.
