Gus was talking about multiple people texting him with the team and raving about how he looks post break, how much work he put in etc.
Its like 5 days. Can you really lose weight, get in better shape, and add a corner 3 in 5 days midseason?

We've seen him do all kinds of stuff in practice before. I'll be impressed when he takes these shots regularly on game day.

Zion is shooting 3s at the lowest rate of his career this season. I dont think we'll be seeing this anytime soon

Yeah. We'll see how he looks tomorrow night. Hopefully he's even better than when we saw him last, but I also assume leaking praise for his work ethic is more positive reinforcement for Zion than being amazed at what he did in a week. Either way, if he didn't lose a step over the break, then we are seeing the same steady improvement and commitment we've seen all year.

He has always had a pretty looking jump shot, he always made them when he takes them. Mid 30's is not a bad shooter and I bet money he will shoot 40% from 3 as a spot up shooter in his best career years. The story has never been "Zion can't shoot", the story is he just doesn't take them. Even the 5-7 mid range pull ups he's shot were all beautiful looking, and the post up fadeaway jump shots look better than most his peers outside of the Lukas, Durant's, ect. Bro gotta start taking them and if he does, this team might shock the world and buss somebody arse in the playoffs.

And all this time we thought he's just been standing in the corner with his thumb in his arse for no reason. It's been a diversion this whole time, Willie is a genius!

I think that this is a big area where he has been hurt by his conditioning. He can still finish in the paint while barely standing up, but you see the struggle in his foul shots when he is tired. The more tired he is, the less confident he is in his distance shooting.

Z looks good. You can always tell in his face.
There are so many unique/strange things about his game. But the strangest thing is he has never pump faked. Its always just speed and power to the rim. If he ever learns a counter fake...like an off speed pitch in baseball... he will foul out his defender by halftime.

if zion can continue is slow but steady trend in the right conditioning direction and finish the season, continue the effort offseason, i think he could be poised for his best season of his career next year.

Yeah his jaw is looking sharp. Body fat % is definitely down
Those 2 3’s were wildly different though lol. First one was high arcing like Trey’s shot, second one was flat like CJ’s shot. Not a big fan of Zion’s shot form but his arms are huge so I guess it makes sense he’ll have an unorthodox shot
