Why? There is not even a far fetched reason that would justify getting beat to death in a school bathroom because you looked or acted different.

By the deceased person's own admission, she was attacked because she poured water on them, not because she "looked or acted different."

*Assuming these text messages are legit. This is a very recent story and it's easy to fake text screenshots, so I'm not convinced yet.

And standing up for oneself by pouring water on them? While not advisable as an effective retribution, dont we encourage standing up for ones self?

If the exchange was previously verbal and the deceased person was the one to escalate it to a physical altercation by throwing water on the other people, she bears some responsibility for that in my personal, not legal, opinion. I haven't checked Oklahoma laws on this so that's just my personal opinion of a basic common sense understanding that if I throw water on someone, I'd expect them to physically retaliate. Still doesn't justify being beat to death, as I previously stated.

So for the victim, there is a requirement to not escalate....but the assailants can escalate to the point of death? None of this happens if the bullies were not being assholes initially. 100% of the blame lies with them.

It does look just a tad like you're putting in some effort trying to find justification for it.
