So what was the conspiracy of the local police? That’s his claim? Then adjudicate it now. He’s a free man and can file a civil lawsuit and get just compensation plus punitive damages if he can prove his allegations of police misconduct.

If you Google the case, you'll learn that he sued the corrupt cops in federal court. The exwife was sleeping with some of the cops and had kids by some! They were doing favors for her and not upholding the law like they claimed. There's evidence including several recordings.

From what I read, the veteran proved his innocence in the criminal case. The civil case is much easier since only a preponderance of the evidence is needed. A NOT GUILTY verdict is hard to dispute in civil court.
