The way he has been swinging the bat, I certainly don't view Kling as a lock. He is elite defensively, but Bingham, Brown and Pearson look better at the plate. Not sure of the capabilities of Milam at SS, Braswell looks good defensively, but not good at all batting.

Like always, it will probably be the 9 best hitters that play.

Not exactly, just due to the fact that they're limited by the positions they're capable of playing. But I agree with the sentiment that Jay is going to try to get the best 9 bats in the lineup as possible. Not directed at you, but this thread is a train wreck of suck. WAY too many knee-jerk reaction conclusions after just 4 games both positively and negatively. Too many assumptions on who is safe, too. There are guys who have earned long leashes for sure, but honestly, I think Tommy White is the only guy who is a 100% lock to be in the lineup every day. Bingham is probably close, too. Everybody else is subject to their offensive performance. Their positions, their backups, and their past performances will determine how long that leash is and will give some longer ones than others.

But make no mistake, the leashes won't be limitless. There will be no .150 hitters in the every day lineup in April. We don't have the top end guys to sustain a black hole, auto out every time through like we might have been able to last year. But we do have a ton of depth to be able to fit guys in who are actually producing. It's gonna be fun to watch and see who takes hold of those spots. I just hope we don't have too many assholes like a few in this thread who are way too eager to shite on a kid after one bad weekend. Or just one bad game. Hope in one hand and piss in the other, though, I guess. The Rant will The Rant.
