Constitutional carry

I'm all for Constitutional carry but will still keep my license. If you travel out of state it's good to have for reciprocity. Also if you have a CCW license most FFL's don't call in the brady check.

Yes, will still maintain a CCW license just because I frequently travel between Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Mississippi. Arkansas is a Constitutional Carry state as are the neighboring states. Louisiana is an island of idiocy for not already having it.

"Reciprocity" isn't an issue today if you're traveling to constitutional carry states. If you're traveling in or among states that all have constitutional carry, any state that recognizes that concept doesn't also say the US Constitution only applies to residents of that state and not to residents of Louisiana.

Logically the idea of a permit undermines the whole idea of the supremacy of the Constitution as your justification for carrying in the first place. Texas law doesn't say the 2nd amendment applies to Texas residents only, it applies to any legal gun owner in Texas, whether resident or visitor.

Some states with constitutional carry or 'shall issue' states have historically issued its residents cards for 'reciprocity' (Alaska, New Hampshire) with no continuing education requirements or excessive cost like the silly CWP nonsense Louisiana has now. But Vermont is a permitless carry state, it doesn't issue any physical 'permit' to its citizens, yet they have reciprocity with Louisiana too.

The idea of paying $125 plus 'continuing education' from largely uninformed off duty cops goes away with constitutional carry.

Most states are permitless carry adjacent to Louisiana already. Leaving Louisiana, you can drive to Florida, to Ohio, up to Montana and every state in between allows permitless carry already. It is a shame we have to drive across state lines to get the full benefit of the Constitution.

Yeah I keep my license with my vehicle registration & insurance. A copy of the 2nd amendment. I also have an account I do not touch & have not touched for several years just for attorney's fees if I'm ever arrested for my right to bear arms.

I realize that fight would be costly, as I would intend to take it all the way to the SC if needed.
Gun free zones are illegal.
