EBR sheriff opposed it under a foolish notion that some how it puts officers in more danger? Because criminals tell you they are carrying a weapon before they shoot you.

Yeah, got in an argument with my buddy, very conservative, when he said he did not support it. He thinks it means more guns in the hands of bad guys and concealed guns, making things more dangerous for law enforcement. I told him every violent murderous criminal in Louisiana is already illegally conceal-carrying now and they don't give a F about the law. This will only give law abiding folks a chance to protect themselves more adequately. It's amazing some of the people I know who do not get that.
