Because woody gave him a ridiculous fricking contract hes going to get next year. He might even see year four.

Who in their right mind thinks that canning him after this year would be a good idea? How would a team ever get out of the doldrums if they hired a new coach every 2 years? Do you really expect a new coach to come in next year and do better? That never happens. So you’re basically asking for another two years of starting over.

Woody doesn't seem to mind paying contracts off as evidenced by several of our former coaches. Orgeron notwithstanding

There are only two coaches in the SEC who make less than him, one being Missouri’s coach
