I was given a Feather DE razor as a gift. It’s absurdly expensive (approximately $200), but the most comfortable shave I’ve ever had. I’m sure you can find a great DE for far less than $200. But if you have the money to spend, the Feather is great. The good news is you recoup the expense by paying little to nothing for the blades compared to cartridge blades

Feather blades are no joke. I use a Meeker DE and Feather blades. When I started using a double edged razor, a friend gave me some Feather blades. My face looked like I shaved with lawnmower. Now, they give the best shave, hands down. If I recall correctly, Feather also makes surgical scalpels. So they know how to make a nice blade.
