Mt. Pleasant is an easy drive across the Ravenel Bridge into downtown Charleston. Only issue can be finding parking in town.
Mt. Pleasant also gives easy access to I-526 which takes you to I-26 for the drive to and from Columbia.
We always stay on Isle of Palms in one of the condos there so we also have beach access, but not sure if you would want that... just depends on what weekend the game is.
