Yes, no matter what Lakers will have 3 picks available to trade the day of the draft.

Either 24/25, 29 and 31

They are probably hoping we keep the 24 pick so it gives them extra time to find a trade using 25. Personally i say defer to 25 but wait until the last possible moment to say you’re deferring to give them as little time as possible to trade 24 pick before being on the clock at the draft.

Yes, but a pick in the current draft is always significantly more valuable than a future pick.

And my general point is that the Lakers are going to use all three to try to get another star. It's very unlikely that the Lakers 2025 pick will be better than this year's, although injuries are always a possibility (how we got Dyson).
