It could very well be nerve related. May be just late sequela of the sciatica. It is strange that it is still going on but seems more likely be related to that than to something coincidental.
May need to see a neurologist for further testing/clarification

It is not nerve related.
Sudden onset of redness, swelling, and warmth in a foot is..
1. Gout
2. Infection
3. A lot of other random things - pseudogout, inflammatory arthritis flare (RA, SA, lupus, etc)
DVT can lead to swelling, but it is more in the lower leg/calf
...but what do I know, I'm just a foot Dr...
