SAS is a closet conservative. Not the first time he's made similar comments like this. He can't go full blown though, it would put his job and his credibility with the black community at risk if he did. He has straight up said the black community should give the Republicans a shot and black people shouldn't be shamed for voting that way, because the monopoly Dems have had on the black vote for half a century hasn't done them much good.

Despite his ridiculous theatrics (can’t blame him, it’s made him rich) he’s intelligent and thoughtful about stuff beyond sports. No doubt he realizes what a free market does for talented and/or hard-working people and he realizes which side of the political spectrum is more traditionally aligned with that.
