I’m fairly ignorant of how this works. But, do the justices have a private session where they discuss/debate issues related to the case or is it only during oral arguments?

This case was argued in the briefs filed by the parties in this case. Oral arguments are for the justices to get questions in the record. They will vote on this privately, probably today. Who knows when decision will be released other than before Colorado election.
