If competition isn't up to snuff yet, those girls, wearing a very unflattering uniforms, are going to draw more gawks and sneers than cheers at those events.

Doesn't sound like a healthy compromise for anyone actually involved in the sport.

While I don’t live in NE, I do watch high school wrestling with my kids. Girls wrestling just became a varsity sport where I live. There are some girls that have been wrestling for years and are very good. At the youth level they match up really well with the boys. At the high school level there are a couple with elite technique that can hang with the boys.
I have seen a couple of girls that wrestle at the lower weights make it to the state tournament. The bigger girls have trouble matching the strength at the upper weight classes.
However, there aren’t enough girls to fill a team at most schools yet. I am waiting for the first coach to be fired for telling a girl that they need to drop a few lbs to compete for the team.
