Peanuts are legumes (beans, peas, lentils). Legume protein is low in essential ammino acids like methionine and cysteine. Animal protein would be a much better source.
So, you are correct in that you are getting protein but not the most optimal source along with a ton of fat. Probably 70% or more of the calories in PB are from fat. Be careful...
