Apparently, the OP thinks 100k citizens of BR are accomplished hunters and fishermen.

If they aren't they'd learn quick. Also, they wouldn't be sitting by a feed tree waiting on them. Folks would start doing man drives to rivers and such. Also, a deer wouldn't last long if that's all you're eating for protein. 30 to 50 lbs of meat off of a doe, would last a man/woman a month or a little more if you really stretch it. Most folks, including accomplished hunters, don't know jack sh*t about preserving food without refrigeration/freezers. You'd see a lot of folks in the summer killing deer and eating what they can before spoilage then either trashing the rest or getting seriously ill and dying from eating spoiled meat. Same with whatever cattle are around. If you have them you'd better be able to protect them and be able to dry/can a lot of meat at a time.

Population of the US is around 100 people/square mile. Even if half the population dies in the first month or two you'll still have a lot of people dispersing from cities. There'd be folks crawling around everywhere.

The sad reality of that type situation is that you must be ready to kill anyone perceived as a threat.

Yup. Not a world I'd care to live in. If SHTF I hope whatever bomb hits us lands on my head.
