WeatherBug isn't a weather app, it is a data harvesting app. It has been since it was PC only.

There are two primary sources for weather data, the NOAA and another agency. I know there are weather geniuses in this thread that can clarify. I tend to spend time looking at either Apple Weather (since they bought DarkSky) and Storm Radar, and focusing more on the precipitation patterns than anything else. Any app can say 70% chance of rain at your current location, but I have to look at radar anyway to figure out if that means it may sprinkle for four minutes, or if I'm going to get a quarter inch over the course of a few hours.

And they've been that way since the late 90s. No idea why/how they're still around.
