Haha thanks for the tips - glad to hear you enjoyed it. Is there enough to do in the area to spend the week with the family? That’s my plan with these destination runs - the run is a small part of the trip, not looking to fly in somewhere for a weekend.
Id say yes. I like the area alot. If you want to go super low key theres a single bed room 2 bed cottage in Gordan, Wisconsin (about 45 minutes outside of duluth) on Airbnb thats reasonably priced. Its attached to an old fire tower that they leave the key to and you can go explore at will. It was super cool.

I would probably advise against spending the whole week in duluth if you have little ones going with you but you can definitely get 2/3 days of entertainment out of it. Would probably stay in Minny for the first couple days then drive to duluth.

Big city wise start putting in for the NYC marathon lottery. Race is great. crazy to see how many people line the street to watch random people run by for hours.

International - I was told by a friend who has run 70+ marathon that Berlin was the best.

Outdoors / trail they're all great in their own different ways. Search ultrasignup.com. has filters to search location, month, distance.

We prefer small towns over big cities, we took a trip last summer to Boston and Maine spent 7-8 days of the Maine portion hopping from town to town (finding a central place for 3-4 days to explore and then a second similar location for another 3-4 days) and would love to do something similar with this trip (if it’s viable).

Interested in hearing more about NYC as well. I applied last year and plan to keep applying every year hereafter until I get in (or die).
