I’d recommend doing an ultra in the Southeast. Super fulfilling and amazing scenery. Tennessee and Georgia are loaded with amazing races.
I did the Cloudland Canyon 50 miler in north Georgia, but they also offer a half marathon version. Would 100% recommend and will remember the rest of my life.

That sounds really neat but I’m struggling now to get the miles in for marathon training - 2 young kids and work hours all over the place. Definitely something I’d like to do one day though.
