Honestly, DA is hot garbage and so was Carmichael. Our talent took us farther than we should have gone. Carr is barely an above average QB, but I can see him being semi-dangerous in the right system. We are not that system, especially if we hire the Bears old OC. If we get Griese it could be a diff story. We have a lot of issues and just need to clean house and start over. You can’t win on talent alone

All of this plus that we played terrible teams and defenses this year. If we had a more difficult schedule then Carr and the offense's numbers would be much worse

I maintain that the 2023 saints roster/schedule would’ve gone at least 12-5 with Sean Payton running the show.

Easiest schedule on paper in the league, above average defense, and I think top 5-7 skill position talent. Payton would’ve masked O-Line deficiencies sooner/better and would’ve had this offense average at least another 5-6 points per game. Would’ve been a top 5 scoring offense. Would’ve NEVER lost at Green Bay or either of the divisional losses. Between Houston, Jax, Rams, and Minnesota we would’ve absolutely gone AT LEAST 1-3… probably flip a coin between 2-2/3-1.

I’d bet Payton would’ve steered this team to 13/14 wins and a possible 1 seed.

The talent WAS there, the virus/vacuum of leadership known as DA has one of the worst records in history Against-the-Spread for a reason. His teams ROUTINELY leave wins on the table.
