I want everyone to take a look at this list. Saints rank 14th in total offense in the nfl this year 8th ranked points scored . Now I want you to ask yourselfs if all those teams ahead of us just have more talent?

Honestly, DA is hot garbage and so was Carmichael. Our talent took us farther than we should have gone. Carr is barely an above average QB, but I can see him being semi-dangerous in the right system. We are not that system, especially if we hire the Bears old OC. If we get Griese it could be a diff story. We have a lot of issues and just need to clean house and start over. You can’t win on talent alone

Harold knows his stuff about Saints football.

I'm very surprised we haven't seen any changes to the defensive staff.
Overall it's a solid group but it could be upgraded. Especially the D-Line and pass rush areas.

All of this plus that we played terrible teams and defenses this year. If we had a more difficult schedule then Carr and the offense's numbers would be much worse

This! The system needs to change……which means it CAN NOT be Curry! A failure to hire from the Shanahan/Mcvay tree should be seen as a complete and utter fricking failure

talent and stats dont matter as long as you have one point more than the other team at the end of the game

how so?
you cant assume curry would in any way have the same style and schemes as PC had. more than likely curry would have an all new system and style plays, but its all guessing at this point.
not saying i want it to be curry, but all im saying is curry is just as likely to completely rebuild the offense as any other OC guy coming in

I maintain that the 2023 saints roster/schedule would’ve gone at least 12-5 with Sean Payton running the show.
Easiest schedule on paper in the league, above average defense, and I think top 5-7 skill position talent. Payton would’ve masked O-Line deficiencies sooner/better and would’ve had this offense average at least another 5-6 points per game. Would’ve been a top 5 scoring offense. Would’ve NEVER lost at Green Bay or either of the divisional losses. Between Houston, Jax, Rams, and Minnesota we would’ve absolutely gone AT LEAST 1-3… probably flip a coin between 2-2/3-1.
I’d bet Payton would’ve steered this team to 13/14 wins and a possible 1 seed.
The talent WAS there, the virus/vacuum of leadership known as DA has one of the worst records in history Against-the-Spread for a reason. His teams ROUTINELY leave wins on the table.
