I think you also need to take into consideration that in 2012 the offense the Saints were running, CSP's offense was still fresh and most teams were trying to emulate it. Fast forward to 2023 and the offensive strategies have changed significantly but the Saints approach hasn't. For sure it's a combination of things but it starts with a shift in offensive game planning and play calling.

Nice assessment . I appreciate your alternate view of the situation! I agree it’s a number of things . But then again the saints offense is usually the prototype offense nfl teams would want to ruin . Hell lsu adopted it in 2019 supposedly. There’s not that many true spread offenses in the nfl like you trying to make it seem like . The raven is really the only offense that runs a college style offense cause they have the QB to do it . With that being said I can see that eventually these spread offenses eventually show up more and more in college as kids these days that all they know how to run .
