Hopefully, it is a big dog so you can keep it outside all the time. Never let him in the house. Trust me. Dogs are disgusting. Feed him, play with him, take care of him when extreme weather comes. Outside dogs are the happiest and easiest to care of. Example when you need to go on vacation just put out a ton of extra dry food/water in a covered spot and then leave.
