You sure seem anxious to send them into harm’s way.

you dont believe that we should retaliate when a known terrorist state with a 40 year history of hating Americans kills our own troops? i hate Biden and everything that his party stands for, but i'm not so blinded by hate to think that there arent plenty other direct threats to the United States and our troops that need killing when they get out of line.

I served for 8 years. US Army. Combat engineer.

I oppose putting ANY boots on the ground except as an absolute last resort.

I’m not for new wars but the idea we are going after proxies and not Iran is fkn stupid. Biden is afraid of Iran or has some type of commitment to them.

Yes, I do.

However, I believe in doing it in such a way as to minimize the prospects of it happening again. The moron I was responding to has been screaming for all out war. It’s easy to do that when you know you won’t have to go.

No need for boots on the ground. We don't want to occupy. In fact, no one should be able to even live there after our Army is done with the place. No boots. Just millions of MOABs from one side of Iran to the other. Scorched earth. Nothing left to fight over. Playing with gloves on has gotten us no where.

The problem is that this is a never ending cycle. We keep interfering without justifiable reason (Afghanistan, Iraq), and creating more enemies.

And then have to respond when incidents like this happen, starting another cycle.

Iran (or rather the mullahs that rule it) is our enemy because we supported a dictator who ruled over that country with an iron fist (just like we are doing in Pakistan and Egypt now). We keep sowing these seeds, and act like they happen for no reason.

Who's on first?

I would help if our Secretary of Defense was actually fully present and in communication with the Commander in Chief. Little things like that might help the military operate better.

It wasn't even just the Shah. I've seen people on this board repeat 1979 so much, as if that was when our "problems" with Iran started. We actually supported the coup that ousted a democratically elected leader in the 1950s in order to put that dictator in power. I have no love lost for Iran, but it takes someone who is very ignorant to not understand why they don't like us.

True.
The sad thing is, we are repeating the same mistake (overthrowing a democratically elected leader) in Pakistan now.

30 years from now, our kids will ask, "why do they hate us?"

Great question. Say THEIR names….

Sgt. William Rivers
Specialist Kennedy Sanders
Specialist Breonna Moffett

Cut the woke, “progressive” (regressive), race-baiting bull$hit out and say THEIR names. 3 names worth remembering here.

Just giving an alternate theory (not necessarily my own):

What if the US government, not the Iranian government, was responsible for the attacks on our soldiers?

While it wouldn't surprise me, we can't start thinking that way or else none of it matters anymore and life as we know it is over. IF that was the truth, then we are too far gone as a country to ever mend. Lets pray that's not the case.
