we got a kid in daycare. Seems alright. She is good around other kids.
not ideal I guess but I was raised with two white collar working parents. Never crossed my mind to have a stay at home wife

Daycare has its upsides. You don't want to raise a hermit. There's an abundance of activities available in most suburban and urban areas for kids to be involved in from a very young age for stay at home mothers. Of course they all cost money.
Those young families out there that have a single blue collar mid 5 figure income have my utmost respect. They're better people than I am.

Both of ours went to daycare until they were old enough to stay home a few hours by themselves. One of them graduated from UC Boulder and the other is a straight A student entering the 9th grade. We both had careers before we had a family and anytime one or both of us needed to take off to be with the kids for any reason we just did, if our employer at the time didn't like it they could go to hell. I don't know that the one could have turned out better and the other one is doing fantastic and shows all the signs of doing better than her brother. Either one of them can make friends with ease and never meets a stranger, both of them are kind and generous and caring. What more could one ask for?
