Take him on a “ride” on the Algiers ferry. You can go across and back fairly quickly and it’ll cost you more to park than to cross the Mississippi and come back.

Observation deck at the state capitol is also a good idea. Yeah, anyone can go

I've been going to New Orleans from Baton Rouge for 40+ years and only last month found out you can buy a $3 Jazzy Pass with the Nola RTA app and use every street car/bus/ferry for 24 hours.

We parked by Audubon Park and took street care to Canal, ate in the Quarter walked around the RiverWalk, took the ferry to Algiers, then headed back to Audubon park. $9 for the 3 of us.

Highly recommend using this to anyone visiting Nola.
