As others have said, if you're only going to subscribe to one business publication then the cost-effective one is Barrons. Although the WSJ has certainly become a bastion for GOPe thought, I still find it the best among its peers (and I'm biased because I learned how to read the WSJ in business classes). I'm usually lifted by seeing right-leaning readers crucify GOPe and liberal leanings in the comments. There are a solid group of liberals who comment there. I ignore the worst of them and engage some of the others.

I subscribe at the cheaper price and mark on my calendar when to cancel before they raise prices on me. Usually, but not always, they will continue offering it for a discounted price. If they won't, then I cancel and just wait until I see it advertised on the cheap. It's a silly game that they play and I've complained directly to them.

I still enjoy the WSJ very much. Well it’s not what it used to be years ago they still put more thought into their articles reporting the most and is always a fun read

From a pure business perspective, you can get much better real time news using any number of Internet sources
