Been checking out the broadcast for the past couple days and I tell you, if I was in the market for a pick-up truck, I'd seriously consider bidding on the ones that go across their staging area.

There's some great deals on trucks that have basically been gone over from top to bottom, fresh paint, new engine and transmissions, redone interiors, custom paint, nice wheels, etc. with many of them selling in the upper 20K to 50K range depending on the year and popularity of the particular models.

Sellers in Monday’s auction got the shaft big time. Steals for days for buyers all evening.

Saw a mint, unrestored, very low mile 90s Chevy extended cab bring over 50K in some auction last week.

I DVR'd yesterday's broadcast and have seen several absolute steals on trucks since I've pretty much fast forwarded to just catch the trucks heading across the stage.

Almost all of them are WAY better than when they were purchased new from the dealership, even if 40+ years ago. Many of them were advertised as frame-off resto-mods and I'd dare anyone to do that to a vehicle and try to keep it remotely close to what these are selling for.

Some sellers are way upside down on their sales with some selling for $35K that had to cost near twice that much to build.

I enjoy watching Barrett-Jackson for a while then the announcers and the auctioneer in the background get to me....I'm pushing 70 and was big in the muscle car era...My first car was a 66 Plymouth that I paid 600 bucks for. I fixed it up and had it show room looking.

I sold it in 1975 to a guy I knew who kept it for about 2 years and he sold it....About 4 years ago I was watching Barrett-Jackson and a twin of my 66 Plymouth came across my screen.....It sold for just shy of $40,000. LOL

Is bidding price final price or is there tons of fees and bs for the buyer at an auction like this?

10 percent fee added to buyer. 8 percent from the seller. Barrett Jackson is the real winner.

why pay $70k for a new truck that is a piece of trash, and 25 recalls before you drive it off the lot

when you can spend $40-$50k and get a fully restored muscle car or truck

You going to drive that fully restored truck daily?

Also, I can see you don't watch those hacks at work on those restoration shows. Their builds make a Yugo seem reliable.

why not, are you going to be driving that $70k f-150 daily after you buy it? so that is a dumb question

as for the quality of work, you dont but it from jacklegs like gas monkey garage.

you can just buy the all original unrestored vehicles too if you want

So, Price + auction fee + TTL.

That could get expensive quick especially someone financing.

no, seller pays auction fee, buyer pays 10% of purchase price as a transaction fee and TT&L

if i recall correctly the auction fee is 15% of sale price

auction gets a total of 25% that way because they couldnt sell them if they charged buyers 25%

Well that’s why I bought it. I’m not spending that money to bike to work.

exactly, but buckycheese thinks the people who buy cars at auction, just park it in their living room and never drive them.

thats only true for those buying the 6 figure collector cars

Semantics, it’s a fee at an auction

I'm watching. There are some absolute steals going across there today.

They had a show quality 55 chevy sell for 35k.

That would have easily pulled 45-55k in a private sale.
