I've never had a car that can do 60 in four seconds but if I did I'm sure I would abuse it.
This is pretty much it. You can get normal range on regular XL load-rated tires if you aren't barking them at every stop sign or red light. Hell, I was approaching 30k miles on the OEMs (which aren't XLs) before switching them out due to a nail puncturing a sidewall, and all of them still measure close to new. I kept the good three as future spares that I can easily get another 25k miles out of. And I do "goose it" from time to time.
Now, ask me about all the gas, oil changes, transmission fluid changes, coolant flushes, differential fluid changes, etc. I don't have to deal with on that car. Over the life of the car, it's not even close as to which one is more costly, both to my wallet or any perceived impacts on the environment (not why I bought it). I loathe the $100+ oil changes on my other two.
