During the spring I always keep a 5' ultra light spinning rod on the deck with a cork and jig. (Usually a Bobby Garland monkey milk)

I throw it at docks with obvious brush sticking up and natural laydowns on the bank when it "looks right".

I'll catch a few here and there, but I haven't hammered them in a long time. I'm starting to feel like I waste too much time doing that when I should be strictly bass fishing. With my electronics and new trolling motor, it's easier now it seems to bass fish in the peak of spring and mess with white perch out deep the rest of the year.

My problem is I can't suppress my inner Pierre part coonass and I end up beating the banks and cuts and downed timber and stuff. I suck at fishing there.
