He was more or less forced into retirement. They hired Scott Linehan the next year as the same type of proxy OC

Co- sometimes is just a concession to make someone stay. I highly doubt they will both be battling over calling plays.

Also, these coaches get distracted from their position coach duties with this infrastructure. Players under Mallory and Pevato will tell you that.

Wtf?

I see a lot of post saying that the co offensive coordinator was just a title for hankton to get him to stay. How do we know that he won't be sharing in half of the play calling duties? Everyone assumes that Joe Sloan will be doing most of the play calling. Does anyone really KNOW this?

Brady didn’t do the “heavy lifting”
oh please.

Ensminger had all of the 2019 talent in 2018, and did little with it.

Brady came in 2019 and the offense was unleashed.

What if you asked players under Tony Elliot and Jeff Scott?

Cuz Clemson made the National Championship game every year that they Co-OC'd but 1 and they won 2 titles.

It’s BK’s offense. Sloan will call most of it. This makes sense

I'm gonna go ahead and trust BK on this one, and sit back and watch us win a few Natty's over the next decade or so.

Great. Fantastic.

Yeah, how’d he do at LATech? Mediocre to terrible? That’s right. I don’t care whose offense he’s calling.

This board would be in nuclear melt down if someone started a thread and said…

My sources say the the next OC to be named will be a tandem. One was once a middle of the road CUSA OC in the only chance he got and one has never called plays at all.

What a terrible decision.

You might not like the promotion, but I and many others think that he will do an excellent job.

By all accounts he is incredibly organized and detail and process oriented.

He is in an excellent position to succeed.

Kelly and offense is the equivalent of Saban and defense. Kelly is the de facto coordinator

New title or not; the man deserves a healthy raise. The performances of the 2023 receivers was much better than 2022. Jayden Daniels would tell you that his receivers' play was a significant part of why he won the Heisman.

You’re an idiot. You keep these two on staff at all costs. We literally saw the offense perform just fine with a QB in his first real start. He will have all spring and fall to take the lead.

You mean Sloan being the OC, and giving Hankton a title and raise to keep him on staff?

I’m always of the thought that when it comes to these positions, if one person isn’t in charge, no one is in charge.

I think it’s not as easy as they will make it appear.

So will it be a mistake or will they make it appear easy?
