There is also a detriment to living on the city with that municipal charge on the entergy bill as well

That is a theoretical just using random amounts.

But the big thing here is that sales taxes spent in St George aren’t being used on St George.

The argument is that “it is the whole parish shopping there, so the whole parish should benefit.” Except people from other parishes shop there too and people from St George shopping at Whole Foods or elsewhere doesn’t result in BR having to allocate their taxes to pay for St George.

The 70810 zip code is the wealthiest in EBR parish. That’s zip code isn’t in the city of Baton Rouge.

As someone else mentioned earlier, they should have given St. George the school they wanted. Instead they stuck to their guns and made that entire area (which is pretty large) settle for Woodlawn.
