Biden has already won the election.

Democrats played this one to perfection. Biden is a horribly weak and incompetent president with unprecedented low approval ratings. Who could possibly galvanize their voting base to re-elect him and continue the power hold? Donald Trump.
But Donald Trump has been losing momentum since 2020 and with the pathetic losses in 2022 and ridiculous trading card circus and whatnot. DeSantis is clearly more worrisome candidate. So what do they do to ensure Trump wins the primary? They open up multiple "indictments" which motivates the primary voters to back Donald Trump. They then cook the polls to make it appear that Trump not only has a shot at winning the general but is actually favored, taking away the DeSantis general electability advantage
And the result? They've already won the election in January 2024 and the Republican base is too stupid to see it.

You're too stupid to understand Biden isn't going to be the nominee

“But Donald Trump has been losing momentum since 2020”
That’s not true. Statistical trends don’t back that up. It’s not even close, really

You have absolutely jumped into clown world with that bullshite. Besides Desantis knew he wasn’t going to unseat Trump, he was just raising awareness nationally, right?

Biden is trailing Trump in every poll. When was the last time a republican was beating the democrat in the polls? I think you have to go back all the way to GHWB in ‘88.

So it's now effectively a two-man race, Biden vs Haley

That's fantasyland.
DeSantis lost probably the bulk of the MAGA vote when he ran this year. His subsequent campaign did zero to change that and, at times, made him look anything but formidable. Without that base, he didn't have a prayer of winning the primary, much less the general.
This long held largely republican political idea that taking a position slightly to the other side of your opponent is the way to win elections is baffling. Bush senior ran as a continuation of Reagan politics. He lied. His dipshit son ran on non-intervention and a host of other issues he didn't believe in before becoming a warmongering globalist that grew governmment to levels that made Obama jealous. The next two tries at toeing the middle failed miserably and LEAD to Trump. Right now, there is NO option besides Trump who can defeat the left and that's because he's the only one that is playing politics the least. He's the one who has actually done something about immigration, trade, deescalation overseas, reforming tax code... the rest push for more war and otherwise sound like Biden. How is that any threat to the left?

Nah. He will "win" the same way he "won" last time.
