How much does the motherland basin produce every year? I doubt it’s more than pond raised.

In 2020, 10 million lbs from the Basin vs 170 million pounds from ponds - Source: Louisiana Ag Summary.

There is more current information but it’s not online yet, but the Basin has supplied less 10% of the state’s crawfish crop for some years now.

That’s what I figured. It’s not even close pond crawfish dictates everything. Even if the basin has a normal year which they won’t, that’s a fraction of the crawfish market.

But...but...but...the experts here told me that it's the greedy farmers causing the increased prices we see??? Same ole shite every year right??? Right????

You mean to tell me that we could have much lower crawfish prices if all the farms went out of business like some here would be happy to see??? Removing about 94% of crawfish produced annually in this state from the market would help drop prices??? Right????

Please sir, tell me it is not this easy to fix everything where crawfish are dirt cheap again???
