John Fetterman is trying to show the working class union democrats in Pennsylvania that the Dem party still has common sense ahead of a presidential election. No more, no less. He’ll tow the party line when an actual vote comes up for now at least until he builds some political capital. I think his endgame is positioning himself to be the next Manchin. Play both sides by staying on the fence, give lip service with the right quotes, break party lines on votes now and then in the right situations, and get filthy rich and job security for as long as he wants doing it.

Amazing how consistent politicians begin to pay attention to the needs of the voters starting about a year before the next election.
