Memphis losing in the 2008 national title game to Kansas after being up nine with a little more than two minutes left in regulation. A very poor FT shooting team all year had little issue from the line in the NCAAT until that moment, and Chalmers draining the three to force OT.

The Vikings losing the 1999 NFCCG the way they did can't be stated enough, but credit to the Falcons playing the way they did that day. Normally they would lose that game...but then again, so would the Vikings too.

The Colts losing the Super Bowl to the Saints has to qualify as a signature loss considering how the Saints played in the second half, but at least they had a Super Bowl of their own. For the most part, the Colts can't claim a signature win of that magnitude, maybe the 2007 AFCCG.

That Falcons team wasn’t exactly a slouch at 14-2 either.
