From a girl: my jeweler just told me that standards were recently changed: a lab-grown can now be marketed as a “diamond”. This has (for now anyway), tanked resale diamond prices…. Thankfully that part is not your concern, but still good to know as you shop around.
What I prefer are “old mine-cut“ diamonds. Well before this new development, I’ve admired their elegant beauty. They have a deep sparkle from within, & are a slightly darker white.
You can find them on places like eBay, even set in old rings etc., & have re-set. Of course, your bride’s opinion is crucial! Plus you need a trusted jeweler’s guidance.
Just thought I’d present this option.

If your girls claim is that she can see the difference in a lab cut diamond and a natural one she’s wrong.
