re: Trip recommendations for Detroit

I travel to Detroit quite a bit and it is as safe or safer than any other the large city in the country. There are several hotel options downtown. Detroit style pizza is my favorite and a quick google search will give you an idea which places you should try. Someone in an earlier post mentioned the Greek/Mediterranean food, and I would agree with that. They have a huge Lebanese/Arab population there, so you will see alot of those restaurants. They also have pretty good mexican food in the Mexicantown area. If you play golf, the Detroit area has some really good golf courses.
