There have been a few studies recently that found brain activity after "death" for as much as 15 minutes. Brain death is a step-wise process. You lose all senses- hearing, seeing, feeling, etc. Feeling is the last to go and the most bizarre. You know, at least you think you know, you are laying on a bed, but since you cannot feel anything you do not feel the bed..you feel nothing. You might as well be just a brain in a jar on a desk. You have control over nothing, you are way beyond completely helpless. You don't really know how long you've been this way, time is confusing to say the least. You know whatever happens next is up to the good Lord, you know its too late for "I'm sorry"- and that is one thing you know for certain. It is a hundred fold the most serious time of your "life".
