quote:
I do not fear death. I have watched both my children grow into adulthood, start their careers, get married and have all the grandkids they plan on giving me. I am at ease knowing they both chose great partners and have established themselves well in the careers. I have been successful in my career and have everything in place for my wife to be taken care of if something happens to me. I have had great experiences in life, have traveled some and seen some lots this great world has to offer.
Most importantly, as a Christian, my soul and mind is at peace knowing I will spend eternity in the presence and grace of my God.
Doesn’t mean I’m ready to go today or that there are not still things I would like to see or experience just that I will be at peace when I am called home.
My fear is that I experience either an accident or health condition that leave me here in an incapacitated state and that I become a burden on my family.
That my friend is almost identical to my situation.
When my first Grandchild was born, Since I am the first in my family to get a college degree, I hoped I could live to see my grandchild graduate from college.
I'm now 81 and he is a Sophomore at UA Tuscaloosa. I'm in good health so chances are good that I will get my wish.
Life is good.
